#AEW2024 - Today is Substitute Educators Day - Substitutes play a vital role in the maintenance and continuity of daily education.
Substitute Educators Day seeks to:
- Encourage increased respect for substitute education employees
- Advocate for all school substitutes to receive wage and health benefits for those who work most to all of a full school year
- Receive genuine, continual professional development in the art of substitute teaching
- Provide a reminder for school staff on effective practices to prepare for, welcome, and support substitute educators

There are only three days left until the end of the USC Gamecocks and the Clemson Tigers Food Drive. Last year, we collected 1,477 food items and we are hoping to collect even more this year. As of today, the Clemson Tigers are in the lead, having collected 426 food items, while the Gamecocks are behind with 348 food items collected. Who will come out on top? We will find out in just 3 days.

It’s November, and you know what that means? The VWES Gamecocks vs. Clemson Food Drive is here! From November 11th to November 26th, we’ll be collecting canned food items (just a quick reminder—no glass containers, please) to help those in need during the holiday season. This year, kids can choose to support either the South Carolina Gamecocks or the Clemson Tigers when they bring in their canned goods. Last year, the Clemson Tigers took home the win, but this year, we’re ready to see which team will claim victory! Let’s come together and make a big difference for our community—every can helps!
